EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that supports people in processing overwhelming or painful experiences and building a greater sense of internal steadiness. EMDR works with our emotions, body sensations and negative beliefs to help memories feel less activating and more integrated. By using bilateral stimulation we are able to help the brain reprocess past memories and allow for new connections to be made.
In addition to trauma work, EMDR can be helpful for anxiety, depression, and long-standing patterns that no longer serve you. Many clients notice increased self-trust, flexibility in coping, and a renewed sense of confidence as they move through the process.
I practice EMDR with cultural humility and respect for the many layers that shape a person’s lived experience, making sure that EMDR is a good fit for you and your presenting symptoms.
EMDR delivered online can be just as effective as in-person sessions. Meaningful connection and progress are possible from the comfort and safety of your own space.
